Post Wedding Shoot: Allison & Bret

I had the lovely opportunity of working with Katie and her husband Scott, of Max & Poppy, and newlyweds Allison and Bret for a "post wedding day" photo shoot.
We headed to the outskirts of Temecula to an area surrounded by trees, wheat grass, sunshine and a few abandoned buildings. It was the perfect setting for this post wedding shoot.
Allison and Brett were a joy to work with, a beautiful couple and we were able to capture some incredible images. This shoot took place way back in September/October, and I'm FINALLY adding it to my blog.
I enjoyed every moment of this session and look forward to many more.

Enjoy! =)

A New Chapter

As I begin my new journey as a wedding consultant, with the hopes of having a bridal boutique someday, I wanted to transition my blog as an avenue of displaying my work. At 27, I have come to the realization that I absolutely love to plan/design weddings and want to make a career doing so. This will come as no surprise to those of you who know me so well, especially to my mother who has been telling me that I should be a wedding planner for years..... Truth is, I've been fighting it. I absolutely did NOT want to work with bridezillas. However, not all brides are bridezillas, and I can definitely pick and choose who I want to work with. So, here goes my new chapter as a wedding consultant/coordinator.

Blessings

So, tomorrow is February 1st!? How did that happen? And, it's 2012! Craaazzzy!!
It feels like only a couple of years ago that I graduated high school; my 10 year is THIS year!! It also feels like months ago that I was in South Africa; that was last October (2010). I went to London with Stef back in 2008/2009, I think!? That also feels like it was less than 2 years ago. Jacob and I have been together now for over 2 years. That one still blows my mind. It feels like I've known him for several years, but also seems as though we've only been together for several months. I can't imagine my life without him in it. He's my everything.

It's crazy where life leads us. People come and go in our lives, friendships evolve, fall apart, and often mend again.
I've had the blessed opportunity to reconnect with a dear friend from high school; Meghann Sloan, now Meghann Murphy. It's been so awesome reconnecting with her, getting to know her kids and who she is now as an adult, a mom. I sometimes still think of us a high school kids, so it's very odd at times to think of her as a mom. She's a great mom! Her kids are very sweet. They have their moments, yes, she'll tell you that, but they really are great kids and she's doing a fantastic job raising them.

It's also unreal that my little sister is going to grad school for her Masters. She really left me behind in the dust. lol. I'm so proud of her. She knows what she wants, what she needs to do to attain it, and she's going after it. I admire her. I miss her, of course, because she's on the other side of the country, but she's only a phone or skype call away =)

I feel very blessed with how my life has turned out. I couldn't really ask for anything more....well, maybe a couple of things. But honestly, I'm blessed and grateful to all that God has given me. I have an awesome, loving, caring boyfriend, amazing family and wonderful friends who love and support me. I'm a very lucky girl.

My addiction

I've been spending a lot, and I mean A LOT, of time on wedding websites and pinterest. It's quite the problem. I think it's turned into an obsession. I just can't help it! Each time I click on a new link or image, I'm lead to several more that I just fall in love with. Does anyone else out there have this sort of problem!!? Be it with the same type of sites or not! I literally get to the point where my legs hurt, from sitting in bed with my laptop on my lap, and I'm incredibly hot due to the heat generated by my laptop. And yet, I still struggle with logging off and putting my computer AWAY!
I've been pinning away, but I've also attached some images that I just adore.

Oh, and fyi, I'm helping a friend with the decor for her wedding, and I am a wedding consultant, so I guess it's not so odd that I'm constantly on wedding sites.

Back at it!

Hello, fellow followers!
I'm still alive and well. It was just brought to my attention, because I recently logged on, that I have not been on here since October!! WOW!! I'm so lame. LOL
I'm happy to report that I am no longer unemployed! Yay! What a relief that is.
I'm currently a wedding consultant at David's Bridal in San Diego (Mission Valley)
It's defintely a position that is more suited for me.
So far, I'm liking it. We'll see how things progress! =)

Job Searching.....

Bleh!
Can I just say, job searching absolutely sucks. I'm sure others of you out there would agree.
After the day I've had today, I will be increasing my "I need a new job prayer" by like, a thousand. Rough day, which means an evening of red wine and jog hunting for me! At least the wine part is fun. I also decided that maybe it's time to create a profile on LinkedIn. I've had the account for a little while now, but I haven't done anything with it until now. So far, it seems like it will be productive. However, I'm having difficulty posting my resume. I keep getting an "unexpected error" message. And I don't know why. Other than it being unexpected, that's the only answer I have. Any who...... that's been my day. So, now I will enjoy my second glass of wine, thank you very much, and some leftover homemade chicken and dumplings =)

Julie & Julia

Another obsession, especially over the last few days since I am still not fully over this head cold. Ugh.
I've had the movie playing on repeat since sometime yesterday afternoon. Fell asleep while watching it last night and started it again this morning. It's on right now as I'm blogging.
I find it inspiring and all I want to do is cook. But I DO NOT want to get up and go grocery shopping or actually put forth the energy to do the cooking. So instead, I sit, watch and drool. lol.
I've been wanting to make the bruschetta she makes. I've made bruschetta before but not the way she does in the movie. She grills the bread in a frying pan with butter before topping it with ripe tomatoes, mozzarella and drizzling it with olive oil. Delicious, yes!? At least, I think she puts mozzarella on the bruschetta, if not, she should. I definitely will!
And the chocolate cream pie she makes, ummm, yummy!!
I think I have a problem. I told you, all I seem to think about is FOOD!

I did make chicken and dumplings last week, for the very first time, and it turned out wonderfully. I was impressed with myself.
I used Rachel Ray's recipe, but I added a few more vegetables than she called for, 3 large carrots instead of 2 and I used about 6 small red potatoes rather than a russet potato. And to the broth, I added some Chardonnay, because let's face it! Wine makes everything better.
For the dumplings I used the Bisquick heart healthy biscuit recipe and added parsley just like her recipe calls for.
And let me tell you, this meal was fabulous. Especially with the cool fall weather we have just been able to enjoy.
I've included a picture of my delightful little masterpiece. I will definitely be making this again. It's a must have meal for Fall.
